Sistability Named Finalist in Two Categories at the 2025 Northern Rivers Regional Business Awards
We are so proud to share that Sistability has been named a finalist in not one, but two categories at the 2025 Northern Rivers Regional Business Awards:
🏆 Excellence in Diversity & Inclusion
🏆 Employer of Choice (20 Employees and Under)
This recognition is an incredible honour for our team, and it reflects both the work we do in the community and the culture we’ve built inside our organisation. At Sistability, we believe that inclusion, diversity, and genuine care aren’t just values on paper — they are guiding principles that shape how we show up every single day.
Why These Categories Matter
Being recognised as a finalist in Excellence in Diversity & Inclusion is particularly meaningful for us. As a social enterprise, Sistability was built on the belief that everyone deserves a fair chance to participate in the workforce, regardless of their background or personal circumstances. Many of our staff members are return-to-work parents, young people beginning their careers, or people who may have previously struggled to find flexible and supportive employment.
By focusing on diversity and inclusion, we’ve been able to create opportunities for people who might otherwise be overlooked. It’s about more than just filling jobs — it’s about helping individuals build confidence, gain stability, and contribute meaningfully to the community.
Similarly, being named a finalist for Employer of Choice (20 Employees and Under) recognises the care we invest in our team. With just 12 staff members, each person plays a vital role in the success of Sistability. We know that our frontline team members — our cleaners and support workers — are often the only people visiting some of our aged care and NDIS clients. Their work goes far beyond cleaning and support; they are the eyes and ears on the ground, helping us identify and respond to concerns that affect clients’ health, safety, and wellbeing.
Supporting our employees with flexible hours, ongoing training, and wellbeing initiatives ensures they can deliver the highest quality of care. For us, being a great employer isn’t an afterthought — it’s central to how we achieve our mission.
From Local to Regional Recognition
Earlier this year, Sistability was honoured at the Ballina Business Awards, where we won Excellence in Diversity & Inclusion and Employer of Choice in the same categories. That experience was not only exciting but also deeply validating. It reminded us that the heart we pour into our work is seen and appreciated, both within our community and by the broader business sector.
Now, to progress to the Regional Business Awards and represent Ballina on a larger stage is a privilege we don’t take lightly. The Northern Rivers is home to so many outstanding businesses — from innovative start-ups to established organisations — all working hard to strengthen our region. To be named alongside them as finalists is something we are truly proud of.
A Community Effort
While these awards highlight our achievements as an organisation, we know that none of this would be possible without our people.
Our staff: Their dedication, professionalism, and heart are at the centre of everything we do. They show up with empathy and energy, often going above and beyond for the people they support.
Our clients: We are grateful to the aged care and NDIS participants, families, and community members who trust us to provide services in their homes. Your trust inspires us to continually improve and grow.
Our community: From local partners and advocates to the many people who cheer us on, the Northern Rivers community has supported Sistability from day one. This recognition belongs to all of you as much as it does to us.
Looking Ahead
Awards are wonderful moments of celebration, but for us, they’re also reminders of why we started. Sistability exists to make a difference — in the lives of our clients, in the careers of our staff, and in the broader community. Being recognised as a finalist in two categories affirms that we’re on the right track, and it motivates us to keep pushing forward with heart and purpose.
As we look ahead to the awards ceremony, we’re filled with gratitude and excitement. No matter the outcome, standing among so many incredible businesses in the Northern Rivers is an achievement in itself.
Congratulations to the Finalists
Finally, we’d like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to all the other finalists. We are in excellent company and can’t wait to celebrate the achievements of businesses right across our region. The Northern Rivers is full of talent, innovation, and resilience, and it’s a privilege to be part of this community.
Here’s to a weekend of celebration, connection, and recognising the amazing work happening in our region.
