Who We Help: A Guide to Sistability's Clients and the Services We Provide

At Sistability, we believe everyone deserves to live safely and comfortably in their own home, regardless of age, ability, or circumstance. But not everyone arrives at our door the same way, and that's exactly why we don't offer a one-size-fits-all service.

From older Australians navigating the aged care system for the first time, to NDIS participants needing specialist cleaning support, to veterans who've given so much and deserve reliable help in return, each person we work with has a unique story, unique needs, and a unique pathway to accessing our help.

Here's a clear guide to who we support, how funding works, and what services are available to each client group.

Older Australians: Support at Home

Australia's aged care system has recently undergone significant change with the introduction of the Support at Home (SaH) program (formerly Home Care Packages). If you or a loved one is over 65 (or over 50 for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people), you may be eligible for government-subsidised in-home support.

For many families, just knowing where to start is the hardest part. That's why Sistability doesn't just provide services, we also offer Aged Care Navigation to help you understand your options and move through the system with confidence.

Once you're set up, our aged care clients can access a comprehensive range of support. On the practical side, that includes Maintenance Cleaning, Spring Cleaning, and Specialised Cleaning for situations that need extra care as well as Gardening to keep outdoor spaces safe and manageable. We also offer Social Support for older Australians who benefit from regular connection and companionship alongside practical help at home.

Beyond the hands-on services, we provide Care Coordination to help manage and connect different types of support, and Home Support Services for broader domestic assistance tailored to your needs.

A clean, well-maintained home isn't just about appearances for older Australians, it's directly tied to health, wellbeing, and the ability to stay independent for longer.

NDIS Participants: Specialist Cleaning Support

For people living with a disability, the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding for support that helps you live your best life. Sistability is a registered NDIS provider, which means our services can be claimed through your plan.

At the moment, our availability for NDIS clients is focused on Specialised Cleaning. This is our most intensive service, designed for situations that go beyond a standard clean, including hoarding and extreme cleaning, post-hospital discharge cleans, filth and squalor clean-ups, and move-in/move-out transition cleaning.

If you're an NDIS participant who needs this kind of dedicated, compassionate support, we'd love to hear from you. And as our capacity grows, we look forward to expanding the services we can offer to the NDIS community.

Veterans: Recognising Your Service

Veterans deserve to come home to comfort and dignity. Through our partnerships with registered Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) providers, eligible veterans can access Sistability services as part of their DVA-funded support.

Our veteran clients can access Maintenance Cleaning for regular upkeep, Specialised Cleaning for situations that need extra attention, and Gardening to maintain safe and manageable outdoor spaces. We understand that for many veterans, accepting help at home is a significant step, and we approach every visit with the respect and discretion it deserves.

Carers: You Matter Too

Carers are often the invisible backbone of Australia's support system. If you're caring for a family member or loved one in the Northern Rivers region, you may be able to access our services through a referral from Carers NSW via the Carer Gateway.

Carers can access Maintenance Cleaning support through this pathway, a small but meaningful relief that can make a real difference to your energy, your mental health, and your capacity to keep showing up for the person you care for.

Self-Funded Clients: Quality Without the Waitlist

Not everyone qualifies for government-funded support, and that shouldn't stop you from getting help at home. For self-funded clients, Sistability offers the same high-quality, professional home services on a private-pay basis, flexible, straightforward, and designed around your needs.

Self-funded clients can access Maintenance Cleaning, Spring Cleaning, Specialised Cleaning, and Gardening services. Choosing Sistability as a private client also means you're choosing a certified social enterprise, meaning your investment doesn't just clean your home, it creates employment pathways and supports people in your community.

Insurance Clients: When You Need Help After the Unexpected

Sometimes life throws the unexpected at you — a flood, a fire, a break-in, or a significant accident at home. In these situations, your insurance policy may cover the cost of professional cleaning and restoration, and Sistability can help.

We work with both homeowners and insurance companies directly. Whether you've experienced water damage, storm damage, smoke or soot, or a property that needs a thorough clean before it's liveable again, our specialised cleaning team can assess and restore your home to a safe and comfortable condition.

If you're making an insurance claim, we can work with your insurer or loss adjuster to scope and deliver the right level of clean. And if you're not sure whether your policy covers it, we're happy to talk it through with you first.

The Social Enterprise Difference

Regardless of how you come to us or how your services are funded, every Sistability client is part of something bigger.

We're a certified Social Traders social enterprise, which means every service we deliver creates employment opportunities and purpose for people who face barriers to work. When you choose Sistability (whether through aged care funding, NDIS, DVA, Carers NSW, or privately) you're not just investing in your home. You're investing in your community.
