Sistability Shines at the 2025 Regional NSW Business Awards
We’re still buzzing from the incredible night we had at the 2025 Regional NSW Business Awards at the Ballina RSL last weekend! Surrounded by inspiring businesses, community leaders, and plenty of cheers, our team came together to celebrate what has been a milestone year for Sistability.
And what a night it was. We were absolutely thrilled to take home the award for Excellence in Diversity & Inclusion and to receive a Highly Commended recognition for Employer of Choice (under 20 employees).
These awards are more than just shiny trophies — they reflect the heart of what we do every single day and the values we hold as a social enterprise.
A Win That Means the World: Excellence in Diversity & Inclusion
If there’s one award that speaks directly to our mission, it’s this one. Winning Excellence in Diversity & Inclusion is a huge honour because it shines a spotlight on something that’s at the core of Sistability — creating a workplace where everyone belongs.
From day one, we’ve made it our goal to provide opportunities for people who are often overlooked: mums returning to the workforce, young people carving out their first career path, individuals who need flexible hours, and those who thrive in a supportive, people-first environment.
This award tells us that the way we hire, train, and support our team is being noticed and celebrated. More importantly, it tells our staff — past, present, and future — that their uniqueness is what makes Sistability strong.
Highly Commended Employer of Choice
We couldn’t wipe the smiles off our faces when we also received a Highly Commended recognition for Employer of Choice (under 20 employees). For us, this one is all about our people.
At Sistability, we’ve always believed that happy, supported staff create the best outcomes for our clients. That’s why we’ve built flexibility into the very fabric of our workplace, provide ongoing training and mentoring, and celebrate each other’s wins.
To be recognised as an Employer of Choice at the regional level is proof that small businesses can lead the way when it comes to creating great places to work. And while “Highly Commended” means we didn’t take home the top trophy this time, we honestly feel like winners knowing the impact we’re making in our team’s lives.
A Night to Remember at Ballina RSL
The atmosphere at the Ballina RSL on Saturday was electric. Businesses from across the Northern Rivers came together to share their stories, cheer each other on, and showcase the resilience and innovation that makes this region so special.
For Sistability, it was a chance to reflect on just how far we’ve come. From our early days as a micro business with fewer than five employees, to a 14-strong team delivering essential care and cleaning services across the Northern Rivers, it’s been quite a journey.
As our CEO Jade Taylor said:
“These awards reflect not just what we do, but why we do it. Every recognition belongs to our team — the cleaners, support workers, and staff who show up every day with heart. They are the reason Sistability continues to grow and make a difference.”
Why These Awards Matter
Winning awards is always exciting, but what truly matters is the impact they represent. For us, these recognitions mean:
Our staff feel valued, supported, and proud to be part of Sistability.
Our clients know they can rely on a team that treats their homes — and their lives — with respect.
Our community sees the power of a business model that reinvests into people, not just profit.
And of course, this isn’t the end. These achievements mean Sistability now heads to Sydney later this month for the NSW State Business Awards, where we’ll represent the Northern Rivers in the Excellence in Diversity & Inclusion category.
Looking Ahead
We’re heading into the rest of 2025 with full hearts and big plans. As one of only a handful of certified social enterprises in the Northern Rivers, we’re committed to reinvesting our success into the community. That means:
Expanding our services so more vulnerable clients can receive the care they need.
Creating even more flexible job opportunities for locals.
Continuing to set the bar for what inclusive, people-first workplaces can look like.
