Curious About the Working with Sistability? Join Us Next Month and See What It’s Really Like
Have you ever wondered what it’s actually like to work in the cleaning, gardening or support services industry? Maybe you are thinking about a new job, looking for flexible work, or just curious about what opportunities are out there.
On Wednesday 18 February 2026, Sistability is hosting a relaxed information session and employment opportunity event at Ballina RSL, and everyone is welcome to attend.
This session is all about opening the doors, answering questions honestly, and giving people a real feel for the work we do and the people behind it. Whether you are actively looking for work or simply exploring your options, this is a great chance to come along, listen, and see if it feels like the right fit for you.
What the Session Is About
The cleaning and support services industry plays a huge role in keeping homes, workplaces and communities safe and comfortable. It is meaningful, hands on work that often flies under the radar, yet makes a genuine difference to people’s everyday lives.
During the session, we will talk through what working in the industry really involves, including:
The types of roles available such as house cleaning, commercial and post construction cleaning, gardening, and support services
What a typical day looks like in different roles
The skills and qualities employers value most
What checks or requirements may be needed
How to get yourself job ready
There will also be time for one on one chats and informal interviews for anyone who wants to learn more about next steps.
Who This Is For
This event is open to anyone who is curious. You do not need prior experience to attend.
You might be:
Looking for steady work with purpose
Wanting flexibility to fit around family or other commitments
Returning to the workforce after a break
New to the industry and unsure where to start
Interested in work that involves helping others and being part of a team
While ideal candidates will have reliable transport, be available at least three days per week, and be able to pass an NDIS check, we encourage all interested people to come along, even if you are still figuring things out.
A Welcoming Space For All
At Sistability, we believe that good work starts with good conversations. We know that many people are interested in cleaning and support roles but are unsure what the work really looks like or whether it would suit them.
This session is about creating a welcoming space where people can ask questions, meet our team, and get a genuine sense of who we are and how we work. We are proud of the role our staff play in supporting older Australians, people living with disability, and the wider community, and we love sharing what makes this work so meaningful.
For us, it is not just about filling roles. It is about connection, understanding, and giving people the confidence to explore new opportunities.
