Sistability Named Finalist in Six Categories at the 2026 Ballina Business Awards

We are thrilled to share that Sistability has been named a finalist in six categories at this year's Ballina Business Awards, with winners announced on July 11th. It is a moment we are genuinely proud of, not because of trophies or titles, but because of what this recognition says about the people behind our service and the community we get to work alongside every day.

The Categories We Are Finalists In

Sistability has been shortlisted across the following categories:

  • Excellence in Health, Care & Wellness Industries

  • Outstanding Employee, with our own Olivia Guy nominated

  • Employer of Choice (20 Employees and Under)

  • Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion

  • Excellence in Small Business (6-20 Employees)

  • Excellence in Workplace Health & Wellbeing

Being recognised across this many categories speaks to something bigger than any single program or policy. It reflects the way our team shows up for each other and for the clients we support across Ballina, Lismore, Byron Bay, and the wider Northern Rivers region.

A Wonderful Nod to Olivia Guy

Of all the categories, the Outstanding Employee nomination feels especially personal. Olivia Guy has been recognised for the consistency, warmth, and care she brings to her role every single day. Anyone who has worked alongside Olivia knows she is the kind of person who makes the people around her better at their jobs, simply by how she shows up. This nomination is a reflection of the trust she has built with clients and colleagues alike, and we could not be prouder to see her named alongside other outstanding employees across the region.

Why These Categories Matter to Us

As a certified social enterprise providing aged care and NDIS support, Sistability was built on the idea that quality care and genuine community impact are not separate goals. They go hand in hand. Being a finalist for Excellence in Health, Care & Wellness Industries alongside Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion tells us that the work we do to support people with disability and older Australians is being recognised in the same breath as the work we do to build an inclusive workplace.

The same goes for being named a finalist for both Excellence in Small Business and Employer of Choice. We have always believed that looking after our team is not separate from looking after our clients. When our staff feel valued, supported, and well, that care flows naturally into every home visit, every support session, and every conversation with the families we work with.

The Excellence in Workplace Health & Wellbeing nomination ties all of this together. Our team works in physically and emotionally demanding roles, often supporting people through some of the most vulnerable moments in their lives. Being recognised for how we support our own people's wellbeing means a great deal, particularly in an industry where staff burnout is a real and ongoing challenge.

A Reflection of Our Whole Team

Founded in 2018 by sisters Jade Taylor and Holi Ryan, Sistability has grown from a small idea into a Support at Home and NDIS provider across the Northern Rivers. These finalist nominations are not the result of one person's effort. They reflect the contributions of every team member who turns up each day to provide domestic assistance, gardening, specialised cleaning, personal support, and Support at Home coordination with genuine care.

It also reflects the trust our clients and their families place in us. Being named a finalist in categories spanning care, diversity, business excellence, and workplace wellbeing is a meaningful acknowledgment from our local business community, and we do not take that lightly.

Looking Ahead to July 11th

Whatever happens on the night, being named a finalist across six categories is something worth celebrating in its own right. It is a chance to pause and recognise the people who make Sistability what it is, from our care team in the field to our office staff behind the scenes.

We will be cheering loudest for Olivia on the night, and for every member of our team whose work contributed to these nominations. Here's to a wonderful evening celebrating the Ballina business community on July 11th.
