Morning Tea at Oaktree Village in Goonellabah: Connecting with Seniors
On Friday, August 1st, Sistability had the privilege of hosting a wonderful morning tea at Oaktree Village in Goonellabah. It was a fantastic opportunity for local older Australians to gather, learn, and engage with our team on the important topic of aged care.
The morning tea saw a great turnout of residents, all eager to understand how the aged care system works and how they can navigate it. Jenn, our experienced Aged Care Manager, led a highly informative and engaging presentation. She offered valuable insights into the various services available to seniors, how to start the journey with My Aged Care, and the different types of home care packages.
The room was filled with curiosity, and it was clear that many attendees had important questions on their minds. At the end of the session, there was a surge of inquiries from the residents, who were grateful for the opportunity to speak directly with our team. Our staff happily took the time to answer each question, offering guidance and support where needed.
The event was a success, not only in terms of knowledge sharing but also in connecting with the community. We were thrilled to sign up several residents to our Care Compass program, which helps seniors from the very beginning of their aged care journey. Whether it’s navigating My Aged Care, preparing for assessments, or understanding the process of receiving a home care package, Care Compass is designed to provide the essential support and direction needed.
It was an enriching experience for both our team and the residents, and we look forward to continuing to provide valuable support to seniors in our community.
